Temperature transition 100%

SKF Data / automatic product parameters

α, a, dimensions and load factors come from the selected SKF product. n = 10/9 is the agreed modelling assumption. Kn and the dimensionless Cr/Ca ratio are different quantities.

How the recommendation is determined

First, pressure centres establish radial reactions. SKF’s induced axial loads and axial equilibrium determine the reference bearing loads. With verified product stiffness, the model finds the least closure that maintains those load criteria, includes setting/thermal tolerances, and checks life, static safety and the preload ceiling. O and X are evaluated with the same construction inputs.

Positive cold setting means assembly endplay; negative cold setting means elastic interference/preload. Cold and operating settings can have different signs. If required data are missing, the tool identifies the missing quantity and withholds the affected result. The reduced model does not include shaft tilt, lubrication, detailed roller/raceway geometry or frictional heat.
